Last Friday night Gavin tried to take his YMCA bracelet off with his teeth like I did helping Jessica get hers off before her game. It was one of those plastic bracelets that you really should use scissors to get off, but I didn't have a pair and Jess needed a free wrist to hit the volleyball correctly. Gavin thought he should take his off too. Only for him in the bracelet versus the tooth, the bracelet won. Sort of. It loosened his wiggly tooth enough that it could have easily been removed that evening, but for whatever reason - perhaps because it was bleeding a lot and I didn't have proper supplies for that, I chose to leave it alone for the time being. The whole night Gavin obsessed about it coming out too soon and that he would be toothless for a really long time and asking me to put it back in. It was humorous if not quite distracting from the game I was trying to watch during his bemoaning.
Tonight, Tuesday - he complained again that it was coming out. I asked him to wait til we got home so it wouldn't get lost. Jessica took over. By now she is a tooth removal expert. While I was taking care of other things, she helped her brother get it out with the old, "Let me wiggle it" trick and it was out. You will notice his look of concern followed by more confidence and excitement about getting a dollar from the tooth fairy. You'll also notice Lily's disgust at his naivety. She has lost 6 teeth now with the most recent being last week. This is his FIRST! I say, it's about time. He is almost 6 1/2 years old. He can stand to loose a tooth. I added all my attempts at getting this picture midst lots of interruptions for attention. Note that Ammon wanted to be in the picture too. Of course, he is getting his teeth - not close to loosing them. I'm still waiting for his last canine to pop in. He's only 2 1/2 working on getting his 16th tooth.
See the new missing space? Yes, that's the one.
What a mockery.
I got teeth! Yes I do!! I got teeth how bout YOU!?!
