The Holladay Party

(Above) Jessica's adopted grandparents Bill and Willie
The Holladays were our first neighbors in the Mobile Home Community where we moved when Jessica was 5 months old. Bill and Willie (Aunt Willie as we call her) moved there shortly after Willie had a medical emergency. We moved there while Jhonny was in school full time.
Willie was a wonderful neighbor and kept informed with everyone in the community as she rode around on her golf cart or electric wheel chair.

When the Holladays found out we were LDS, Willie had to let me know about her nephew Malcom who is also LDS and who was moving to the area with his wife and children. We met Malcom and Melanie not long after at the Holladays during a dinner party and became quick friends.

The couple's daughter, Cindy lives in a subdivision not far away right next door to our good friends, the Bishop's who I happen to help hook up 10 years ago in the single's ward. The Holladays got to know the Bishop's while they stayed with their daughter for a few months while getting their house ready. Malcom and Melanie eventually moved to our ward also and we all had a great time together.

Then last summer we moved. Shortly before or after the Holladays were gone as well and we lost touch. So imagine our surprise when we got an invitation last week for their 50th Wedding Anniversary party in College Station - not far from where we live now! Through the six degrees of LDS linkups and next door neighbors, their daughter was able to track us down. How delighted we were to hear that the family moved the Holladays to Bryan where I just happen to be going to deliver my baby in June! We have had some wonderful memories with the Holladays and we're so glad to be back in touch after so many months!
Lily enjoying cake! Yummy!

(What's your first clue that she's sitting at the "Mormon" table? LOL)

** Hint: Beverages served at the party - beer, iced tea, lemonade and bottled water.

I love it when that happens- the world isn't so big, is it?
