The wildflowers are out in bloom. Jhonny informed me last night that they are no accident. Ladybird Johnson encouraged states to plant wildflowers along highways and Texas was one of the first states to do so. Everywhere you drive in the Spring you can see Indian Paint Brush, Blue Bonnets and other flowers spread across the roadways and medians.
In Houston, you have to drive a ways out of town to get to them and some people make a tradition out of driving out to the Blue Bonnets each spring to take pictures. We've always been too busy for that. Now they are only a hop skip and a jump down the road. On my way to Taylor, I had to stop and catch Lily with the wildflowers.
