Homesick for Grandma's house

Okay it's a daily ritual now. Lily is asking again to go to Grandma's house. Tonight she pulled a tag off of a mattress and told me it was her ticket to Grandma's house. I asked how she would get there and she said, "Like that, Mama," as she did something with her hands. I asked if she was magic and she replied in the affirmative.

Finally I asked if she wanted to call Grandma and she nodded yes. We called and Grandpa answered. Lily got really excited and said, "Hi! Grandpa!" She began to tell him how she was coming to Grandma's house. As he was listening to her she didn't hear him and said to me with a concerned look, "I want to talk to Grandpa!" I assured her as did he that he was there. She "showed" him her ticket and her sticker she got today. Dad played along and got Grandma on the line to listen. Lily talked to her Grandma and Grandpa for a while to let them know of her plans and then she got down from the couch and went as if to leave right now. She obviously didn't get far, but if wishing were willing she'd be there already.

it's nice that she loves her Grandma and Grandpa so much! Too bad you aren't a "little" closer. How often do they get to see your folks?

Such cute girls! (and boy too---he just doesn't have cute stories to go with him yet :) I'm sure they're coming!

i heard she is with grandma now... i asked mom,... really... chalice is going to dive 2 hours to do laundry... of course... i used to drive to west valley to do laundry at grandmas... and coleen didn't get it... she said... arent there laundry mats near by... now i never go... it seems to far for a scooter ride... same with Spencer's... but eventually... before the end of this summer season i will make it out to west valley as well as Provo on the scooter...

lily is cute... if she knew me well enough she would be begging to come to my house... but she should save all of that magic to get to my house...

I'm so absolutely sure she would Tanya. Too bad we don't live closer to you. I bet you two would have a blast playing together. Lily is so precocious and copies even the hardest words. A kid at church was surprised that she could say, "I want to jump on the trampoline, Mama."

I guess I was a little homesick for Grandma's house too. It was really the last chance to be spontaneous since next week school starts and that's the end of quick trips to Houston. I did need to do my laundary too. 9 loads!! Ahh! Apparently we need a roter rooter?? Sp? Something to cut out the tree roots that are plugging our pipes and backing up the water onto our floor EVERY time we do laundary. I suppose I could have gone to a laundromat for cheaper, but what's the fun in that?
On the way home, Lily says, "We going to Grandma's house?" I say, we just went there, Lily! "But, I'm excited to go to Grandma's house, Mom!" As if that would change my mind.
