14th Anniversary

April 11, 2001
Where it all began...

I couldn't stop smiling the whole evening. I'm not sure it could have been more perfect. I'm sure there were many things that were not perfect, but I couldn't focus on anything more than being in love and married at last. Some of the happiest days of my life.
The day began with a ceremony at the courthouse in Guanta, Venezuela at about 11 am on the 11th of April followed by a lunch at my favorite restaurant in Los Altos with my parents and our witnesses. After that we parted to get ready for the ring ceremony at the stake center and the reception immediately following. Our friends from church and school and many family members were all there. It was a wonderful event. We left about midnight and went home to get ready to leave for Caracas and the temple. We were sealed the next day, April 12, 2001 at about the same time that we were married legally.  It was exhilarating and exhausting at the same time.

Happy Ammon

Forgive the laundry, but this kid is too cute! Some of his moves remind me of when he was dancing in the womb at our early ultrasounds. He is definitely "Happy!"

Ammon and some firsts

First birthday party invite for friend from daycare. I think he loves her, what do you think?

Feb 26, Ammon had surgery! Tubes in both ears. Now for learning how to talk. He had his follow up appt this past week. He's healed beautifully and his ears are hearing a little better. He had his initial PPCD eval two days later. He LOVED the play room. It was all his and he was in Heaven. He was disappointed at having to leave. He has a follow up eval and then I'm sure he's qualifying for speech PAIR or PARE program in the district next fall. Even with all the support he is requiring, he is a happy sweet kid who tries really hard. Everyone loves working with him. He takes it all in stride. I know he is behind, but his sweet personality and the joy he brings to everyone he meets makes me proud to be his mommy. And that grin. What a charmer!!

Spring Break 2015

We had to get away. . .  Corpus Christi here we come so soak up some sand, salt water and sun. Well almost some sun. It came out briefly enough to give me a slight sun burn. We got rained out of our tent about 7am. It was souvenir shopping the rest of the day.

It's great to be able to forget about time for a while and get as much sand and sea as you want. My phone died before getting a pic of the kids burying Jhonny. He slept through most of it and enjoyed a snooze for a while.

Easter Egg Hunting then and Now

This morning the neighborhood had our annual Easter Egg Hunt and we actually MADE it this time! I couldn't help comparing Lily's hunt this year to 7 years ago when she was almost 2. I didn't get a video of Ammon who is now almost 3, but it took me back in time. . . Here's a comparison. . . Time flies! Just seems like yesterday.
